Frequently Asked Questions

Executive protection (EP) is a specialized security service that is designed to safeguard corporate executives, high-profile individuals, and their families from physical harm or legal threats. EP agents are trained to provide a variety of security services, including:

  • Close protection: This involves providing physical protection to the executive at all times, including when they are traveling, at work, or at home.
  • Threat assessment: This involves evaluating the potential for threats to the executive and developing plans to mitigate those risks.
  • Security planning: This involves developing security plans for high-risk events, such as public appearances or travel.
  • Investigation: This involves investigating potential threats and conducting background checks on individuals who may pose a risk to the executive.

An Executive Protection (EP) Program can range from being pretty simple to extremely grand in scope. A highly effective Program is most commonly executed using three (3) strategies, each geared at proactively protecting high networth individuals. Every strategy has a separate function and is deployed in concert with the others to identify and mitigate risk.

Bodyguarding is the most popular role in the close protection space, it does however differ from Executive Protection in a pretty significant way. Put briefly, the primary difference is two words; Proactive vs Reactive. Executive Protection (EP) is a proactive risk mitigation method with the core purpose of providing solutions for concerns involving risk, threat, access, confidentiality, and logistics. Bodyguards are known for only reactively responding to unwanted intrusions on their clients.

EP is typically provided to high-profile executives, such as CEOs, CFOs, and politicians, who are at risk of physical harm or legal threats. However, EP can also be provided to individuals who are at risk of kidnapping, extortion, or other forms of violence.

There are two main types of EP:

  • Full-time protection: This is the highest level of EP and involves providing 24/7 protection to the executive.
  • Part-time protection: This typically involves providing protection for specific events or periods of time.

There are a number of factors to consider when choosing an EP agency, including:

  • Experience: The agency should have a proven track record of providing EP services.
  • Qualifications: The agency’s agents should be qualified and experienced in EP.
  • Insurance: The agency should have comprehensive insurance coverage.
  • References: Ask for references from satisfied clients.

Yes, we offer guard services 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. In addition to our officers on post overnight, our management team does regular site visits throughout the night. Overnight shifts are challenging for many, they can require heightened awareness during long periods of inactivity. We take special care to assign such a critically important shift to those accustomed and experienced at working overnight.

The costs of EP can vary depending on the level of protection that is required. Full-time protection is typically the most expensive type of EP.

Executive protection can provide a number of benefits, including:

  • Increased peace of mind: The executive can have peace of mind knowing that they are being protected from harm.
  • Improved security: EP can help to reduce the risk of physical harm or legal threats to the executive.
  • Protection of reputation: EP can help to protect the executive’s reputation if they are the victim of a crime.

The risks of not having executive protection can be significant, including:

  • Physical harm: The executive could be harmed or killed if they are not adequately protected.
  • Legal threats: The executive could be sued or prosecuted if they are the victim of a crime.
  • Damage to reputation: The executive’s reputation could be damaged if they are the victim of a crime.

Executive protection agents have a number of legal obligations, including:

  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Protecting the safety and security of the executive.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Reporting any suspected criminal activity.

Executive protection agents must uphold a high standard of ethical conduct, including:

  • Acting with honesty and integrity.
  • Treating the executive with respect.
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest.
  • Refusing to participate in any illegal or unethical activities.

Executive protection can be deployed in a variety of ways, including:

  • On-site protection: This involves providing protection to the executive at their home, office, or other locations.
  • Mobile protection: This involves providing protection to the executive while they are traveling.
  • Electronic surveillance: This involves using electronic devices to monitor the executive’s movements and activities.
  • Advance work: This involves conducting research on the potential threats to the executive and developing plans to mitigate those risks.

Executive protection agents use a variety of equipment to protect the executive, including:

  • Handheld radios: This allows the agent to communicate with other agents and the executive.
  • Batons: This is used to defend the executive from physical attack.
  • Tasers:
