When a Fire System Goes Down,
the Clock Is Already Running.
What the code says
Florida follows the state Fire Prevention Code. When a fire alarm is out of service for more than four hours in a day, or a sprinkler system for ten or more, the standard calls for an approved fire watch until it's restored.
Orange County also publishes its own fire prevention ordinance, so local rules can run stricter than the state floor. A real Fire Watch is a trained person on foot patrol with a written log, and nothing else on their plate.
Who has the final say
Inside Orlando city limits, that's the City of Orlando Office of the Fire Marshal. In unincorporated Orange County, it's the Orange County Fire Rescue Office of the Fire Marshal. Which one is your fire official depends on where the building sits, and we confirm the requirement with them before the first shift.
If your Officer is doing both regular security and the Fire Watch and a fire official finds out, the site can be treated as having no compliant coverage at all. So we staff it as its own post.
Codes and coverage are the easy things to write down. The questions people actually ask us are more practical.

Are you local to Orlando?
Yes. Our Officers work Orange County and the Orlando metro every day, from downtown out to Winter Garden and Apopka. Coverage comes from a team that knows the area, not one meeting it for the first time on your job.
Can you staff a large event on short notice?
Often, yes. Event coverage plans best with three to four days' notice, and we can move on as little as 24 hours when something changes. The honest tradeoff is that a rushed timeline gets you coverage, but not the full planning process, and the two aren't the same thing. We'll tell you which one you're getting.
How fast can you get Officers to my property?
For short-notice or emergency guard coverage, we're often on site within 24 hours. For Fire Watch, our fastest start has been under an hour, and a standard setup runs about four hours. We won't promise you an exact arrival time before we know anything about your site, though. Anyone who does is selling, not scoping.
Which Orange County cities do you cover?
Orlando, Winter Park, Apopka, Ocoee, Winter Garden, Maitland, Belle Isle, Windermere, Edgewood, and the unincorporated communities across the county. If your site is anywhere in Orange County, call us. We very likely cover it, and we'll tell you plainly if we don't.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. There's no flat minimum. Some coverage is a single event, and some runs every day, indefinitely. Tell us what you're dealing with and we'll scope your actual situation, including when it's smaller than you expected.
What does security cost in Orange County?
As a general range, unarmed coverage commonly runs $28 to $40 an hour and armed coverage $38 to $55. Event Security is priced per Officer and quoted per event. The full ranges and the factors that move a quote are covered when you request a site assessment. A cheap Officer who's often missing or unprepared costs you far more than the few dollars an hour you saved.
Most of what a property here needs starts with one of these. A few good pieces of reading can settle the rest.
