In most homes, one person has thought about this and nobody else has. If something happens at two in the morning, everyone improvises, in the dark, in different directions. That's the actual problem, and it's a solvable one.
This is one day with everyone in the same room. We build a plan around your actual house and your actual family, then we walk it and practice it until it's something people remember under stress rather than something you talked about once.
It's calm, it's practical, and it's built to be age-appropriate. Kids leave feeling more secure, not more frightened. That part matters to us and we're careful with it.

Five things the day is built around
Your family safety plan
We build it together, in plain language: what counts as a problem, who calls whom, what the words are, and what happens first. Everyone contributes so everyone owns it.
Your home, walked room by room
Entry points, doors and locks, lighting, sightlines from the street, where people sleep, and the paths between them. We do this in your actual house, not on a whiteboard.
Who does what
One adult does this, the other does that, the older kid has this job, the younger one has that one. Roles remove hesitation, and hesitation is what costs people time.
Drills that fit every age
Short, simple, and scaled so a small child can do their part and a grandparent can do theirs. We run them together until they feel normal instead of scary.
Talking about it well
How to raise this with kids in a way that leaves them feeling safer, how to keep it age-appropriate, and how to revisit it once or twice a year without drama.

We build the day around what actually happens to families, not worst-case theater.

- ✓A five-minute drills sheet, so you can run a refresher over a weekend without needing us there.
- ✓A post-course call a few weeks later, to answer what came up once you'd lived with the plan for a while.

Before the day
A short call to learn who's in the household, ages, your home, and anything specific worrying you.
Morning: the conversation
Everyone together. What we're doing and why, in language that works for the youngest person in the room. Then we build the plan.
Midday: walking your home
Room by room, doors, lighting, entry points, rally points, and the routes between them.
Afternoon: running it
Practicing the drills together, slowly at first, until each person's part feels automatic.
Close: handover
Questions, the plan handed over, and how to keep it alive with a refresher a couple of times a year.
What you won't get here
No big egos, no fear-mongering, no hyper-tactical operator act, and nothing that leaves your kids sleeping worse than before.
We won't preach at you, and we won't make anyone feel small for not having thought about this yet. Most families haven't. We'll build from where you are, at a pace that fits your household, with care and patience in every interaction. What we want is simple: your family, walking around with earned confidence.

Darryl leads, with a team behind him
Darryl Johnson built ARDENT's training and the standard behind it. His background runs through the military, law enforcement, and executive protection, the same work he now teaches. Alongside him is a small team of experienced professional instructors.
One curriculum, one standard
Everything traces back to the curriculum we hold our own Agents to, so whoever you train with, you're getting the same standard, taught the same way.
We only teach what we can do ourselves
Nothing here is theory borrowed from somebody else's manual. If we teach it, we do it, and we'll tell you honestly where the edge of our experience is rather than pretend it isn't there.

One flat price for the whole household
However many people live in your home, it's one price. Nobody gets left out over cost.
Before you book
What ages does this work for?
All of them. We scale each person's part to what they can handle, so a five-year-old has a simple job and a teenager has a real one. We're careful to leave kids feeling more secure rather than more frightened.
Do we need firearms for this?
No. The day is taught dry by default, with no live fire. If your household owns a firearm or wants that instruction included, we can add it, and we'll cover safe storage either way.
Does it have to be at our house?
It's much better if it is, since the plan is built around your actual layout and entry points. If that isn't possible, we'll work from photos and a floor plan and still get you most of the way there.
What if we rent, or live in a condo?
Perfectly fine. We work with what you can control, which in a rental or a condo is still a great deal more than most people realize.
Is this going to scare my kids?
It shouldn't, and that's something we take seriously. We frame it the way schools frame a fire drill: a calm, normal thing families practice. Most parents tell us their kids enjoyed the day.
