ARDENT Protector's Academy
Four levels, from a single day of fundamentals to high-profile protective operations. Built for people who protect others for a living, and for the ones on their way there.
"These guys have real life experience and it shows."Armando Hernandez

"Awesome trainers that have years of dedicated experience that are willing to teach their experience to you."Lee
People who already know how to be responsible for others
Most of our students come in with a background. Some are starting fresh and willing to do the work. Both belong here.
Four levels, four different courses
Each level is its own course, not a longer version of the last one. Each one prepares you for the next.
Protector Fundamentals
What the work actually is, how protection is layered, and what a real agent looks like.
Solo Agent Operations
Working alone and working it well. The core skills of a single agent on a detail.
Advanced EP Operations
Planning and running the work as part of a team, tested under live scenarios.
High-Profile Protective Operations
The capstone. High-profile and elevated-risk work, ending in certification.
What each level covers, and what comes with it
Protector Fundamentals
The entry point, and an honest look at the work. What executive protection actually is and how it differs from guarding, the three layers of protection, the roles and positions on a team, the difference between your Client and your Principal, professional conduct, etiquette, and confidentiality, and the qualities that make a working agent. Classroom and tabletop, one day.
- ✓Digital certificate of completion
- ✓The Protector's field guide: everyday carry and gear list, the three layers, and the vocabulary of the work
- ✓"Is this career for you?" primer: the roles, what the work pays, and how people actually get in
- ✓Lifetime access to your Level 1 materials and every update
Solo Agent Operations
Working alone, and working it well. Arrivals and departures, walking and protective formations, covering and evacuating a principal, conflict management through avoid, de-escalate, and disengage, the fundamentals of threat and risk assessment, briefing and managing the principal relationship, agent safety, and use-of-force fundamentals. Classroom, tabletop, and practical drills across three days.
- ✓Protection-ready résumé template, plus one review pass on yours
- ✓Working templates you'll actually use: advance checklist, detail-planning worksheet, post-detail report
- ✓One group office-hours session for graduates
Advanced EP Operations
Operating as part of a team, and running the work. Protective advance and route planning, vehicle operations and secure movement, venue security and access control, surveillance detection and pre-attack indicators, protective firearms application, and tactical emergency medicine. Seven days of heavy practical and live scenario work, ending in a solo agent assessment and a mock team detail. Range time and ammunition are billed at cost.
- ✓The private graduate community
- ✓"Getting your first detail" playbook, with interview and tryout preparation
- ✓Your listing in the ARDENT-trained agent roster, which clients and agencies can verify
- ✓A range and practice refresh credit
- ✓An honest, tailored letter of recommendation for those who complete the course successfully
High-Profile Protective Operations
The capstone, built for high-profile and elevated-risk work. Protective intelligence and technical countermeasures taught at a conceptual then contextual level, so you understand how they shape a detail and when they come into play. Protective Vehicle Operations. High-risk environments and kidnap and ransom awareness. High-profile and media considerations. Emotional intelligence. A dedicated block pulls back to the full picture: what large-scale executive protection operations look like, and how every position and every layer fits together to keep a principal safe. Includes a close-protection conditioning standard, and certification through a written exam and a practical evaluation on a simulated detail.
- ✓The High-Profile Protective Operations credential and a verifiable badge
- ✓Three one-on-one detail debriefs with Darryl. After a real detail, schedule up to three sessions within twelve months to walk through how it went
- ✓Pre-movement briefs. Within whatever privacy limits you're bound by, bring an upcoming movement and Darryl will workshop and plan it with you
- ✓Priority consideration for ARDENT details and referral into the network
- ✓Lifetime cohort audit and alumni standing
Darryl leads, with a team behind him
The standard comes from one curriculum Darryl built, so whoever you train with, you're getting the same standard, taught the same way. His background runs through the military, law enforcement, and executive protection, the same work he now teaches. Alongside him is a small team of experienced professional instructors.

100% money back, and two hours to decide
Give us the first two hours of Protector Fundamentals. If you don't believe the course is going to be valuable to you, tell us and we'll refund you 100%, less any deposits, processed within one business day. No debate, no hard feelings. We'd rather give your money back than keep it from someone we didn't serve well.
Before you enroll
Do I need experience to start?
Not for Level 1. It's built as an honest introduction, and plenty of people take it to find out whether this career suits them. Levels 2 through 4 each build on the one before, so you'll either complete the previous level or show us equivalent experience.
Can I skip a level?
Yes, if your experience supports it. Tell us what you've done and we'll assess it honestly. If you're ready, we'll place you where you belong. If you're not, we'll tell you that too.
Is this a state license?
No. This is ARDENT's own training and credential. Florida security licensing, including the Class D and Class G licenses, is a separate process handled through the state, and requirements can change. We'll point you toward the right resources, and we'd encourage you to confirm current requirements with the state directly.
Do I need my own firearm?
For the levels with live fire, plan to bring your own. Range time and ammunition are billed at cost, separate from tuition. If that's a problem, tell us when you enroll and we'll help you figure out the best path.
Where does training happen?
Across South Florida. Classroom work, partner ranges, and field locations chosen to fit the training. You'll get the specifics for your cohort before it starts.
Will you help me find work afterward?
We'll help you be ready for it. From Level 3 you're listed in our verifiable agent roster and you get the playbook and interview preparation. At Level 4 you're given priority consideration for ARDENT details and referrals into our network. That's real opportunity, and it's earned, but it isn't a job guarantee and we won't pretend otherwise.
Start with a conversation
Tell us where you are and what you want to be ready for, and we'll tell you honestly which level fits.
